Anglican Aged Care
nglican Aged Care is a division of Anglican Care, Canterbury Westland, which was originally incorporated to carry out social work, under its own act of parliament in 1953, as the Social Services Council of the Diocese of Christchurch.
Anglican Aged Care is a non-profit organisation with a mission to provide exceptional standards of care with principles founded on a Christian doctrine of upholding the value of the individual from any race or denomination.
Our Governance
ur overall governance is exercised by a board of trustees and the bishop as Warden. Anglican Aged Care also has its own committee to oversee and support the work.
Key Staff Members
Janet Anderson
Manager Aged Care ServicesOriginally trained as a lawyer, Janet has been in this role for 22 years. She takes pride in managing a service, which respects the value and dignity of each resident and which is a fair and supportive employer to more than 250 staff.
Phillip Cowley
Financial AccountantPhillip is a chartered accountant with overseas and local experience in small businesses and charitable organisations. His objective is to give Anglican Aged Care's management timely information to enable effective decisions to be made.
Roberta Mclennan
AdministratorRoberta is responsible for the billing and collection of fees and answering general enquiries in the office. She has been in the role for 19 years. Her knowledge of the organisation and friendly, helpful manner make her a natural first port of call for members of the public.
Dini Ariaans
Admissions Co-OrdinatorAs a registered nurse, Dini has worked in a number of hospitals in charge nurse positions. After extensive hands-on nursing experience, Dini decided to change the direction of her career by becoming Anglican Aged Care's Admissions Co-Ordinator.
Judith Kirby
Director of Nursing, BishopsparkJudy is a registered general and obstetric nurse who trained at Christchurch Hospital. She has seen many changes in nursing care for the elderly over the past forty years and believes that Bishopspark provides care "par excellence".
Sandra Ferguson
Director of Nursing, Churchill CommunitySandy has worked for Anglican Aged Care for the past ten years and has extensive experience and qualifications in nursing, leadership and administration. Sandy considers it a great privilege to participate in the care of the elderly.
Judith Wilkinson
Director of Nursing, Fitzgerald CommunitySince graduating with a Diploma of Nursing in 1990, Judith has had extensive clinical experience in New Zealand and in the Middle East. More recently she has held senior educational and management roles in the public sector. Judith was appointed to her present position in July 07.
These members of staff are supported by extremely hard-working, caring professionals in a wide variety of roles enabling Anglican Aged Care to uphold its standards of excellence in care.
